DescriptionBoth ends of the harvesting scale - geograph.org.uk - 2455665.jpg |
English: Both ends of the harvesting scale. An arena display at the Cambridgeshire Young Farmers County show held at Wimpole Hall, Cambridgeshire, England. The large combine is a Claas Lexion 600 on rubber tracks and sporting a 30' header. A popular machine in the large open fields of East Anglia. The smaller machine is a Haldrup plot combine that is no less sophisticated than its green cousin. This machine is owned by National Institute of Agricultural Botany, Cambridge (NIAB/TAG). Its function is to harvest the many trial plots of combinable crops giving detailed analysis of yield and other parameters for each location. |
