Summary

Description

A 9.2 tonne cast iron beam, at a guess, 10 metres long, connects the piston rod at one end with the flywheel actuator at the other.

The power of this enormous device would have been something less than 10 horsepower (8 watts). In contrast, the 1.8 litre engine in a mid-sized car such as the Toyota Corolla pushes out at peak around 100 watts.
