English: Boundary Stone number 8 on the Northwest side of the District of Columbia. Marks the border between DC and Maryland. On the NRHP. Taken by zhurnaly - not by me. Medium size photo at https://www.flickr.com/photos/zhurnaly/62630260/sizes/z/in/set-1352644/ Set of 27 (of the 40 boundary stones) all marked CC-by-2.0, all are on the NRHP. Stones were set in a 1791 survey and are called the 1st monuments of the US Federal Government. |
