English: Bowes Lyon Bridge Cast for, and erected on the Bowes Lyon Estate in Hertfordshire the bridge dates from 1844. It was donated to the museum in 1971. The tram is from Leeds, where it ran from 1922 until withdrawal in 1956. The photograph shows the interlaced (or gauntlet) tracks used to permit the double track running line to pass through the restricted width of the bridge. |
