Description
Deutsch: Brühl , Wegekreuz Kölner Tor. Das „Creutz vor der Cöllenportz“ war Ausgangspunkt bei Grenzbegehungen. Es wurde erstmals in der Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts bei aufgekommenen Grenzstreitigkeiten erwähnt. Im 18. Jahrhundert war es Segensstelle bei Fronleichnamsprozessionen. Nach der der Säkularisation wurde es 1801 zerstört aber 1851 als „Kreuz vor dem Kölntor“ in neugotischen Formen durch den Kölner Bildhauer Engelbert Pfeiffer neu gestaltet. Das Kreuz wurde im Laufe der Jahrhunderte bei altersbedingten Schäden oder bei Zerstörung immer wieder erneuert. 1941 wurde aus politischen Gründen der Korpus entfernt, der 2002 durch Bemühungen des Brühler Heimatbundes ersetzt wurde
