English: Brackla Aerodrome perimeter track Little remains of the WW2 RAF airfield at Brackla except some ruined buildings and this section of concrete perimeter track. RAF Brackla opened in 1941 as a relief landing ground for RAF Dalcross (now Inverness Airport) and ended its days around 1946 as a scrapyard where Halifax bombers were broken down by personnel from 45 Maintenance Unit which was based at RAF Kinloss. http://maps.nls.uk/view/74400919#zoom=3&lat=6724&lon=9108&layers=BT |
