The YSR State museum houses number of Brahmanical sclupters which includes

1. Ganesha

2.Sapthamatruka

3.chamudi

4.Mahishashuramardhini.

5.Nataraja

6.Veerabadhra.

7.Chandrashekhara murthy.

8.Vishnu in different avataras.

9.Laxmi

10.Parvathi.

11.Surya.

Belonging to the western chalukyan,Kalyanj chalukyan ,Kakathiya and Vijayanagara period shifted to the Asafnagar,Nalgonda district deserves a close look.She stands in samapada stanaka holding pasa, ankusa, sivalinga and lotus in her four hands.She is well decorated with kirita ,kundalasa,kantaras,armlets,girdles and anklets.

Ganesha and Subramaya are shown on either side of the figure on the pedestal.Mention may be made of fine sclupters of Nandi,Annapurna, Laxmi narayana,Varaha, surya,a slab depicted with rasi chakra and the ornate kakathiya pillars with Ramayana scence belonging to the 12-13 th centuries A.D. on the display besides the few Vijayanagara sculptures in the open countryard.


One cannot miss to see a fine structure of inscribed Jaina saraswathi from Mahor Adilabad district datable to 11 th century A.D.standing in the tribanga ,She holds a veena, ankura in the upper hands and akshamala and book in the lower once.A peacock and two attendences carved on the pedestal.


The prabhavali consists five Jaiina Thirthankaras.The highly polished stone sclupture with meticuosly carved ornaments and jewellery speaks of the artistic dexterity of the Kalyani chalukyan sclupture.
