English: Branches on the Boom, The River Trent near Sawley Branches washed down the Trent have got caught on the boom there to prevent boats heading over the weir. The white water of the weir can be seen behind the boom, with stuck branches of its own.
It's now about two years since a man had to be air-lifted off his boat which had got stuck just like these branches after he had ignored the high water warnings at the Sawley Cut lock. |
