Description
English: Brand-Erbisdorf, gospel hall of the former silver mine "Alte Mordgrube", cultural heritage monument.
Deutsch: Brand-Erbisdorf: Blick auf das Bethaus (erbaut 1853 als Material- und Zimmerhaus) auf dem Areal des Mendenschachtes der Alten Mordgrube. Die Wurzeln der Alten Mordgrube reichen mind. bis ins frühe 15. Jahrhundert zurück. Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts entwickelte sich die Grube zu einer der bedeutendsten Anlagen des Freiberger Bergbaus. Bekanntheit erlangte die Grube durch eine ab 1824 eingesetzte Wassersäulenmaschine. Von der 1899 stillgelegten Grube blieben auf der großen Halde zahlreiche denkmalgeschützte Tagesgebäude erhalten (Huthaus, Bethaus, Bergschmiede, Kaue, Kohlhaus, Tagesanlagen der ehemaligen Dampfgöpelanlage des Schachtes).
