Description
Deutsch: Bremer St. Petri Dom: Die Dom-Maus (etwa 10 cm hoch) befindet sie auf dem Ostchor am Fuße des Portals an der rechten Seitenwand. Das Rundbogenportal stammt aus der 2. Hälfte des 11. Jahrhunderts (1060 - 1100) und war ursprünglich ein Eingangsportal außen an der alten Westfront des Domes zum Marktplatz hin. Die Maus war im Mittelalter ein Symbol für Hexen und Teufel, die - als Bannung des Bösen - am Betreten der Kirche gehindert werden sollten. (Qu.: http://www.stpetridom.de/index.php?id=28). Das Relief unten links ist eine in der romanischen Baukunst häufig vorkommende Überleitung (in Form eines Blattes) zwischen der Ecke der rechteckigen Plinthe und der runden Säulenbasis
