Bricquebec-en-Cotentin (Manche). Le château. Ce bâtiment est l'ancien bâtiment du chartrier. Le chartrier renfermait près de 8500 pièces, la plus grande partie concernant la baronnie de Bricquebec, mais également Orglandes, Blosville, La Haye d'Ectot et Valcanville, etc. Le chartrier de Bricquebec avait été déposé au château de Courtalain dans la première moitié du XIXe siècle, par la duchesse de Montmorency. Il avait été entreposé à Courtalain après la vente du château de Bricquebec en 1814. Le chartrier de Courtalain a été déposé aux archives départementales de la Manche le 18 octobre 2005. Il concerne pour l'essentiel les possessions de la duchesse et du duc de Montmorency, situées dans le département de la Manche. Dans ce chartrier, le sous-fonds le plus important est celui de la baronnie de Bricquebec proprement dite, baronnie qui couvrait une quinzaine de paroisses.
