English: Bridge 29A north of Burton-upon-Trent. The Trent and Mersey Canal was surveyed in 1758 and fully opened through its 93.5 mile length in 1777. The section through Burton dates from 1770. Bridge No 29A was constructed in 1998 to improve connections between new developments and the A38(T) via the original A38 (now A5121) which follows the Roman road known as Ryknild Street. |
