| Description |
English: Bridge No 36 near Barton Turn, Staffordshire. On the Trent and Mersey Canal, this bridge allows the towpath to cross over to the other side. Strangely, though, it is not a "turnover bridge" which would allow the horse pulling the boat not to need unhitching. I wonder why! The bridge also carries a track for farmers (formerly to fields on both sides) and a public footpath. |
