English: Bridleway in the Upper Dove Valley 845196: last image - (image 1 of 10) - next image : 845152
This bridleway is part of a route in the 845131 from Brund in Staffordshire (ahead) to Pilsbury in Derbyshire (behind the viewpoint). Beyond the gates is a minor road connecting Longnor (right, north-westerly) to Sheen. Off the picture and just to the right the route to Brund continues ahead as a minor road. It is possible that this bridleway may once have been a packhorse route. Certainly the lower section was, carrying a route from Pilsbury bridge (now a ford) to Sheen. The post in the foreground is in place to prevent motor vehicles from accessing the route. |
