Summary edit

Description

19th century photograph of the Idol stone at Brimham Rocks, North Yorkshire, England.

Note. There is something apparently significant about the bearded figure in Oxford bags, posing with the Idol rock, which was a matter of some discussion as to its origins, in the 19th century. It is possible that he was an academic writer or researcher on the subject.
