Notes The pages are sewn on three sawn in cords. Y ellow paper over boards. The endpapers and pastedowns have publisher’s titles. The lower cover has an advertisement for “George Roberts, Ladies outfitter, Stay and Skirt Manufacturer, Hosier and Glover.” The upper has decoration printed in colours. Large green ferns are printed against a black background. At the head, the words: “One shilling” are printed in black within a red cartouche. The words: “British Ferns and Mosses” are printed in red and in black within a rectangular cartouche, with “Thomas Moore” being printed in yellow. The imprint is in black at the base of the upper cover. The spine has “British Ferns” printed in red and yellow in a black ground along its length. Feerns are printed near the tail. At the tail, , within a rectangular cartouche, the price of “1/-“[one shilling is printed.
