BRONZE GALLERY

State museum is a treasure house for it rich collection of South Indian bronze belonging to Buddhist Janna and decorative objects; lamps And lamp stand.the earliest bronze datable to 1st century B. C is a figurine of mother and child (Hariti) recovered from a Buddhist site at Dhulikatta karimnagar district. it was executed like Of a terracotta figurine with archaic features .

The notable bronze icon is of standing sasanadevata Ambica with two children namely Siddhartha and Buddha; holds branch of mangos with a simbavabana on the pedestal bronzes of Jaina icons of Bapatla and Richur which are on display shows the metal craft traditions of the medieval period out of 13 bronzes from motupalli excavation; Nataraja belonging to chola period is a unique icon representing aesthetic sensibility. The other bronzes include in the collection viz; venugopala from vakatagiri;kodanda Rama from K. G. Steam; chandarsekhara and Nataraja from chittoor; shows the workmanship of the bronzes from Nepal and Tibet are manjusri; Tara; avalokitesvara Buddha and Bhumisparsa mudra and lamp stands of 18th century A. D. A brass cart; folk bronze, fingers of animals etc;are of decorative Art of medieval period.

In addition to the above are three bronze bells (12th century A. B) from kolanupaka nalgonda district .one of the bells baer an inspiration refers to gift of bells to god somesvara kolunupaka to certain kannappa nayaka

There are varaties of temple Vishu with his consorts. Nellore desings. Most of them are in a form of tree with many branches with small lamp bowls
