Ugolino, scion of a Florentine banking family, is placed in the courtyard of the family palace, where <A onclick="return OpenOther('/html/d/donatell/1_early/david/3david.html')" HREF="/html/d/donatell/1_early/david/3david.html">Donatello's unfinished David</A> is seen. Ugolino wears the dark attire made fashionable by increasing Spanish influence.
