- Legend: Another reef inhabitant is the anemone. Some species, such as the brooding anemone (Epiactus prolifera) shown here, carry their young on the outside of the body. Anemones rely on stinging cells located in their tentacles to capture prey like shrimps and crabs. The stinging cells are filled with harpoon-like structures lined with sharp barbs to spear or snare their prey. The tentacles then push the stunned, but tasty morsel into the anemone's mouth.
Attribution information, such as the author's name, e-mail, website, or signature, that was once visible in the image itself has been moved into the image metadata and/or image description page. This makes the image easier to reuse and more language-neutral, and makes the text easier to process and search for. Commons discourages placing visible author information in images.
