English: Brooksby Station (remains), with train. View NE, towards Melton Mowbray; ex-Midland Leicester - Syston - Melton Mowbray main line, now a section of the Birmingham - Norwich trunk route. Brooksby station had been closed to passengers on 3/7/61, but was still open for goods, until 4/5/64. The train is a Down iron-ore train, headed by a Stanier 8F 2-8-0. |
