English: Broomy Pond, Broomy Plain, New Forest This pond looks to have been artificially created with an embankment across the head of a valley leading down into Broomy Bottom. The downstream side of the pond is fenced off, presumably to stop commoners' stock from trying to drink from the steep-sided bank on this side. This pond is un-named on the OS maps, but might logically be called Broomy Pond since it is on Broomy Plain to the south of Broomy Lodge and Broomy Inclosure, above Broomy Bottom. |
