Description

Flowering tree in mt. Coot-tha Botanic Garden, Brisbane, Australia. The inflorescence is about 20-25cm diameter and very beautiful, not perfumed although. However people walk by without seeing such beauty, because the huge flowers are hiding in the shade under the canopy. But I know about this trick! It is Brownea sp. - genus native to South America. Unsure ID (the tree was not labelled), I think it is Brownea grandiceps

I am not happy with this shot (not enough light for my camera), but such flower must be in my Flickr!
