Svenska: På 1880-talet influerades Bruno Liljefors av den japanska konsten där han låtit huvudmotivet ligga långt fram i bilden, ofta starkt beskuret medan bakgrunden spelade en sekundär roll. På 1890-talet började han lämna det arbetssättet och intressera sig mer för motivets omgivande natur. I Sparvar vid havrekärve, daterad 1892, ser vi att konstnären fortsatte att influeras av det japanska fortfarande en bit in på 1890-talet där konstnären återigen har gått nära motivet och lämnat miljön åt betraktarens fantasi.
