Skolen åpnet 1917, samme år som skolekretsen ble opprettet og skoletomten utskilt fra Bruråk. Ved skolesentraliseringen i slutten av 1950-årene ble den nåværende Bruråk skolekrets dannet ved sammenslåing med de tidligere skolekretsene Hammer, Greistadløkken og Kvål. Skolen hadde da ca. 80 elever. Den gamle skolebygningen fra 1917 ble påbygd 1954 (ark. Ingvar Tagseth) og 1959 (ark. Arne Flaa). Skolebygningene ble tømt 1999, da elevene ble overført til nye Bratsberg skole. Den eldste skolebygningen er et toetasjes trehus. Kilde: Terje Bratberg: Trondheim byleksikon (Oslo 2008) s. 100. |
