Description
English: Brush Creek Cemetery, 172 Altar Lane, Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, February 2021. Among the most historic cemeteries in the region, Brush Creek - originally the burial ground connected with Brush Creek Salems Church, a German Reformed congregation whose 1820 brick church still stands adjacent - was founded in 1782. The cemetery contains the graves not only of a bevy of prominent local citizens including veterans of every American war since the Revolution, but - according to RoadsideAmerica.com - that of George Swanson, who "loved his Corvette so much that he was buried in it in 1994".
