English: Bude Canal at Helebridge, North Cornwall. Photograph looking south and taken May 1976. The canal was used to transport sea sand inland to improve the quality of the soil for agriculture. Tub boats were used on the canal fitted with wheels to pull the tubs up the inclined planes connecting sections of the canal. |
