For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Deutsch: Radio-City, das grösste Vergnügungszentrum der Welt, ist in New York in Angriff genommen worden. Drei riesige Strassenblocks in der besten Gegend von New York, die dem amerikanischen Multimillionär Rockefeller gehören, sind zu diesem Zweck abgerissen worden. Radio-City, die neue Stadt, wird die Heimat der amerikanischen Rundfunkgesellschaften werden. Theater, Kino, Kunst und Sport jeder Art werden vertreten sein. In dem Vergnügungszentrum wird ein Opernhaus mit 2.500 Plätzen, ein Sportplatz für 25.000 Zuschauer, ein Kino für 8.000 Personen erbaut, riesige Räume für Kunstausstellungen, Restaurants, Tanzplätze usw. geschaffen werden. 12 Minuten nur braucht man, um die Häuserfront dieses Riesen-Complexes abzuschreiten und 60 Stock steigt er in die Höhe. Es werdeen mindestens 150.000 To Stahl verbaut. Die Gesamtkosten werden auf 500 Millionen Dollar geschätzt. Auf den Dächern der Wolkenkratzer werden mächtige, noch nie da gewesene Gartenanlagen eingerichtet. Der Entwurf des im Bau befindlichen Vergnügungszentrums New Yorks, genannt "Radio-City", welches im Jahre 1934 in Betrieb genommen werden soll. |
