For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Die neue Riesenbrücke Köln-Mülheim, die grösste Hängebrücke Europas und 32. Brücke über den Rheinstrom, ist am 13.10. in Gegenwart einer riesigen Zuschauermenge feierlich eingeweiht worden. Die mittlere Spannweite dieser Kabel-Hängebrücke beträgt 315 m, an die sich zu beiden Seiten noch Öffnungen von je 91 Meter anschliessen. Gesamtlänge ca. 1300 m. An Material wurden 15.000 Tonnen Stahl und 21.000 Kubikmeter Beton und Eisenbeton verwendet.
UBz: zwei Meisterwerke deutscher Technik: Das Luftschiff "Graf Zeppelin", auf seiner Rheinfahrt begriffen, entbietet der neuen Brücke und der zur Weihe versammelten Menge seinen Gruss.
