For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Magdeburg, Heilig-Geist-Kirche, Ruine Illus Biscan Oktober 50 Die Tatsachen widerlegen ein Gerücht! Wiederaufbau der von anglo-amerikanischen Bomben zerstörten Heilige-Geist-Kirche in Magdeburg 1948 begann man, bei der von anglo-amerikanischen Bomben schwer beschädigten Heilige-Geist-Kirche die Trümmer zu beseitigen und überhängendes und baufälliges Mauerwerk zu sprengen. Gerüchtemacher behaupteten dagegen, die Kirche würde abgetragen. In Wahrheit wurde ihr Wiederaufbau betrieben. UBz: Aufnahme vor etwa 2 Jahren. Leihweise ILLUS Berlin W8
