For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
VEG Atzehdorf, Hopfensetzling Hopfenanbau in der Magdeburger Börde. Die CSR half durch Lieferung der Setzlinge. Hopfen, der wichtigste Rohstoff unserer Brauereien, war bisher ein Sinfuhrartikel, für den alljährlich grossen Summen an Devisen ausgegeben werden mussten. Dank der Hilfe der volksdemokratischen Tschecheslowakei befindet sich die Deutsche Demokratische Republik jetzt auf dem besten Wege zur Selbständigkeit auch auf diesem Gebiete. Auf dem Volksgut Atzehdorf in der Magdeburger Börde und an einigen anderen Stellen ist es gelungen, tschechoslowakische Hopfensetzlinge anzubauen. Die Hopfenkulturen entwickeln sich ganz ausgezeichnet und versprechen einen vollen Erfolg. UBz: Das sind die Setzlinge, aus denen der Hopfen großgezogen wurde. Zentralbild Biscan Zi-We. 14.8.1952
