Hüttenarbeiter Zentralbild Sturm 10.11.1952 Das Eisenhüttenkombinat Ost. ( Aufnahmen vom November 1952 ). Das Eisenhüttenkombinat Ost ist ein Schwerpunktbau in unserem Fünfjahrplan. Durch die Errichtung dieses Betriebes an der Oder-Neiße-Friedensgrenze kommt die tiefe Freundschaft zum Ausdruck, welche die Völker des Friedenslagers miteinander verbindet, denn in diesem Werk wird mit polnischer Kohle sowjetisches Erz für die deutsche Industrie verhüttet. Sowjetische Ingenieure helfen unseren Technikern ständig beim Bau der Hochöfen. Im ersten Sozialistischen Wettbewerb der metallurgischen Betriebe der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik errangen die Kumpel vom Hochofen II eine Höchstleistung. Bis zum 1.11.52 erfüllen sie ihr Wettbewerbsziel mit 100,05% und erzielten somit einen Planvorsprung. Kumpel der Schicht Hartmann vom Ofen II schlugen ihren Kollegen der anderen Brigade des Ofens vor, jede Tonne Eisen, die sie über ihr Wettbewerbssoll hinaus produzieren, dem Ofen I zum Abholen seines Planrückstandes zur Verfügung zu stellen. UBz: der jüngste Oberschmelzer im Werk ist der 20jährige Hein Simoneit. Er ist Brigadeleister am Hochofen II.
