For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Höhne-Pohl-22.1.1953-Kno-Wi.-Wiederaufbau des Dresdener Zwingers. In verhältnismäßg kurzer Zeit wurden nach 1945 die durch anglo-amerikanische Bomber zerstörten Kunstschätze wieder hergestellt. In mühevoller Kleinarbeit wurden auch die kleinsten Überreste von Originalen aus dem Schutt geborgen und die vielen Figuren, Ornamente und Kapitelle nach alten Plänen, Zeichnungen und photographischen Unterlagen originalgetreu nachgebildet. UBz.: Im Zwingerhof. Hinten das wieder hergestellte Kronentor.
