For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Jänschwalde, Kraftwerk, Absetzbecken, Fischfarm ADN-ZB Weisflog 9.4.84 Bez.Cottbus: Wassernutzung- Um in den Braunkohlentagebauen der Republik eine Tonne Kohle fördern zu können, müssen sechs Kubikmeter Wasser gehoben werden. Künftig werden es im DDR-Durchschnitt neun sein. Um dieses Wasser für die Volkswirtschaft zu nutzen, wird es in Grubenwasserreinigungsanlagen aufbereitet. Eine der größten und modernsten Anlagen ist die im Kraftwerk Jänschwalde. Stündlich verarbeitet sie 15 bis 20 Tausend Kubikmeter Wasser aus den angrenzenden Tagebauen Jänschwalde und Cottbus Nord. Das gereinigte Wasser in den großen Absetzbecken wird auch für die Forellenaufzucht genutzt. Der hohe Sauerstoffgehalt und die gleichbleibende Temperatur zwischen acht und 12 Grad sorgen für das prächtige Gedeihen der Edelfische auch im Winter. - siehe auch 1984-0409-3 und 5N -
