For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Meißen, Burgstraße
ADN-ZB Häßler 4.3.86 Bez. Dresden: Altes in neuem Gewand-Was dem Besucher von Meißen so reizvoll erscheint - enge Gassen, spitze und verwinkelte Dächer auf kleinen Häusern -, ist für Einwohner und Stadtväter voller Probleme. Das meiste ist noch aus dem Mittelalter, wie etwa die Bürgerhäuser der Burgstraße, die aus der Zeit der Renaissance (um 1580) und des Barocks (um 1670) stammen. In den letzten Jahren wurden sie rekonstruiert. Nun bieten sie den Bewohnern mehr Komfort und machen das Stadtbild freundlicher. - siehe auch 1986-0304-12N |
