For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Halle, Innenstadt, Neubauten, Wohnblocks ADN-ZB Lehmann 24.7.86 Halle: Städtejubiläum. Halloren, Händel, Chemieproduktion - das sind die Prädikate, die der Bezirksstadt an der Saale zumeist zugeordnet werden. Am 26.-27. Juli begeht sie ihr 1.025jähriges Jubiläum. Ihren über 230.000 Einwohnern bietet sie ein Zuhause, das sich vor allem in den letzten Jahren verjüngt und verschönt hat. Solch innerstädtische Wohngebiete wie Brunos Warte (im Vordergrund), der Alte Berlin und der Glauch-Steg wurden neu gebaut, modernisiert und rekonstruiert, so daß sich für einige Tausend die Wohnbedingungen verbesserten. Noch 1986 sollen 4.165 Wohnungen, bis 1990 über 17.000, im komplexen Wohnungsbau fertiggestellt werden. Foto vom Punkthochhaus Am Steg. - siehe auch 1986-0724-8 - 10n -
