For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Gotha, Schloss Friedenstein ADN-ZB Ludwig-13.10.87 Bez. Erfurt: Forschungsbibliothek- Im Ostflügel des Gothaer Schlosses Friedenstein befindet sich die Forschungsbibliothek, die in- und ausländische Wissenschaftlern offensteht. Der Grundstein zu dieser Büchersammlung wurde vor rund 340 Jahren durch den Herzog Ernst I. von Sachsen-Gotha gelegt. Heute besitzt die Bibliothek 525.000 Bücher und Handschriften aus 12 Jahrhunderten. Eine Besonderheit stellt der reiche Schatz von über 5.000 abendländischen und 3 400 orientalischen Handschriften sowie 1.000 Inkunabeln dar. (siehe 2,3,4 N)
