For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Cottbus, Spreewehrmühle ADN-ZB Weißflog 15.8.88 Cottbus: Ferien - Interessant war für die Ferienspielkinder der 28. Oberschule Cottbus ein Besuch der Spreewehrmühle am Rande der Stadt. Das im Jahre 1801 errichtete Bauwerk mit dem unterschlächtigen Wasserrad und dem vorgelagerten Wehr gilt wegen seiner Lage an einem Fluß als derzeit einzige Mühle dieser Art in der DDR. Eine Arbeitsgruppe des Kulturbunds sorgte gemeinsam mit Betrieben für die Rekonstruktion der Mühle, die 1986 als technisches Denkmal der Öffentlichkeit übergeben wurde. In diesem Jahr kamen bereits über 6000 Schaulustige. (siehe 23 N)
