Berlin-Pankow, Bürgerpark ADN-ZB Franke 31.7.89 Berlin: Pankow- Ein schöner schmiedeisernes Tor bildet den Eingang zum Bürgerpark, der 1854 nach italienischem Vorbild angelegt wurde. Mit seinen ausgedehnten Anlagen bietet er heute noch Erholung und Entspannung. Hier fließt auch die Panke, ein 23 km langes Flüßchen, dem der Stadtbezirk seinen slawischen Namen verdankt. Für die Berliner ist Pankow mit seinen 1 425 Hektar Grünflächen, Parkanlagen und Waldflächen sowie mit rund 9 100 Kleingärten eine beachtliche "güne Lunge".
