For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Hinrichtungsstätte (ADN-Häßler 23.5.1990 Dresden: Hinrichtungsstätte- Die Bezirksstaatsanwaltschaft Dresden ermittelt gegenwärtig aufgrund der Enthüllungen des Leiters des Dresdner Krematoriums Tolkewitz, Dietmar Hildebrand. Er hatte kürzlich der Öffentlichkeit Hinweise übergeben, nach denen zwischen 1952 und 1960 in der Untersuchungshaftanstalt im früheren Dresdner Landgerichtsgebäude, heute Gebäude der Technischen Universität, Personen auf widernatürliche Weise ums Leben gekommen sind. Recherchen hätten den Krematoriums-Leiter zu dem Schluß kommen lassen, daß es sich um enthauptete politische Häftlinge handele. (handschriftlicher Zusatz: Original)
