For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. ADN-Pätzold / 29.5.90-Bez. Schwerin: Als ewige Mahnung für die Mißachtung von Staats- und Bürgerrechten wollen die Einwohner der kleinen Elbgemeinde Rüterberg im Kreis Ludwigslust den Status ihrer am 8.11.1989 proklamierten "Dorfrepublik" beibehalten. 22 Jahre lang lebten sie in nahezu völliger Isolation, eingesperrt zwischen zwei Stacheldrahtzäunen: linker Hand zur BRD, rechter Hand zur DDR. Zwischen 5.00 Uhr und 23.00 Uhr konnten sie ihr Dorf gegen Vorlage eines Passierscheines verlassen und betreten, nachts wurden sie unter Verschlus gehalten. Briefumschläge mit eigenem Stempel der dritten deutschen Repulblik gelten bei Sammlern in aller Welt bereits als Rarität. |
