For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Graal-Müritz, "Gespensterwald" Zentralbild Biscan 11.8.1953 " Gespensterwald" an der Ostsee Der an der Ostseeküste umweit von Graal-Müritz stehende " Gespensterwald" wird zur Zeit von einem Forsttermesser überprüft, um die Unterlagen für die Forsteinrichtung 1954 das heisst für die Aufforstung und die anderen Arbeiten im kommenden Jahre, zu erhalten. Die Buchenstämme dieses eigenartigen Wäldchen sind unter dem dauernden Einfluss der Seewinde verkümmert und verkrüppelt und bieten einen angewohnten Anblick. UBz: Ausschnitte aus dem Gespensterwald.
