For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Kraftsdorf, Einweisung in einen Ährenheber Zentralbild TBD-Greulich e-Kl. 3.8.1954 2378 Maschinen- und Traktorenstationen ernten unter schwierigen Bedingungen. Die starken Niederschläge in den vergangenen Wochen haben dazu geführt, daß ein Teil des Getreides lagert und deshalb nicht so einfach gemäht werden kann. Auf vielen Flächen, liegt jedoch das Korn nach einer Seite, so daß es für die Kollegen der Maschinen und Traktorenstationen möglich ist, mit Ährenhebern, die an die Mähbinder angebracht werden, zu arbeiten. UBz: Mechaniker Graßhof von der MTS Brahmenau (links) erklärt dem Genossenschaftsbauern Franz von der LPG Kraftsdorf bei Gera die Arbeitsweise des Ährenhebers.
