Am Mittwoch, den 19.1.1955 wurden im Hause des Ministeriums für Außenhandel und Innerdeutschen Handel der DDR in Berlin die Warenlisten des Innerdeutschen Handels für das Jahr 1955 zum Berliner Abkommen vom 20. September 1951 unterzeichnet. Damit wurden die am 2.11.54 begonnenen Verhandlungen zwischen den bevollmächtigten Delegationen der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik und Westdeutschland beendet. Die Unterzeichnung erfolgte von Seiten der DDR durch den Hauptabteilungsleiter im Ministerium für Außenhandel und Innerdeutschen Handel, Herrn Erich Freund, für die westdeutsche Seite unterzeichnete der Leiter der Treuhandstelle des Interzonenhandels, Herrn Dr. Leopold.
