For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Leipzig, ABF-Unterricht für ausländische Studenten Zentralbild Illner 8 Mot. 23.3.1955 Finnische Studenten in Leipzig. Im März 1955 trafen in der DDR erstmalig vier Studenten aus Finnland ein, um das Studium an einer Universität oder Hochschule unserer Republik aufzunehmen. Die Studenten werden zunächst einen Sonderlehrgang an der Abteilung Ausland der Arbeiter- und Bauern-Fakultät der Karl-Marx-Universität Leipzig absolvieren, um die deutsche Sprache zu erlernen. UBz: Der Dozent Kurt Klein beim Geschichtsunterricht an der ABF. Neben chinesischen und koreanischen Studenten sitzen auf der ersten Bankreihe (rechts am Fenster) die beiden finnischen Studenten Matti Höltte und Christina Nortgen.
