For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Biscan Zi-Ho. 13.2.1956 Starkes Treibeis auf der Elbe Der Kälteeinbruch hat die Schiffahrt auf der Elbe lahmgelegt. Starkes Treibeis zwang die Schiffe, die schützenden Häfen aufzusuchen. Bei Anhalten der Kälte ist damit zu rechnen, dass die Eismassen zum Stillstand kommen und die Elbe zufriert. UBz, Blick auf die Elbe und den Dom von Magdeburg.
