For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Weide-Talsperre, Hinweisschild, Landschaftsschutzgebiet Zentralbild Erfurt 30.4.56 Wittig Probestau der Weide-Talsperre (Bezirk Gera) UBz: In der Haupt- und Vorsperre sind Baden und Wassersport verboten, denn es sind Trinkwassersperren. Aus diesem Grunde wurde auch der Hauptstau und angrenzend ein 100 m breiter Gürtel zum Landschaftsschutzgebiet erklärt.
