For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Schweinedorf, Schweineställe Zentralbild Biscan 28.3.1957 Schweinedorf im Kreis Staßfurt. Die LPG "Ernst Thälmann" in Förderstedt, Kreis Staßfurt, hat zur Zeit rund tausend Schweine, darunter hundert Sauen. Die Läufer, Jungeber und Jungsauen sind in 37 Schweinehütten untergebracht, die zusammen ein kleines Dorf bilden. Die Schweinehütten haben sich bei der LPG gut bewährt. Nur zum Abferkeln werden die Sauen in gemauerte Ställe gebracht. UBz: Blick auf einen Teil des Schweinedorfes der LPG. Alle Schweinehütten sind mit Ziegel gedeckt, wodurch sie auch bei starkem Regen innen trocken bleiben."
