For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Leipzig, DHfK, Labor
Zentralbild Wlocka Qu 26.10.1957 Deutsche Hochschule für Körperkultur und Sport in Leipzig. Im Jahre 1952 wurde der Grundstein für den Bau der DHfK in Leipzig gelegt. Bisher wurden 25.000 qm Fläche bebaut, dafür stellte unser Staat bis jetzt 17 Mill. DM zur Verfügung. Ein großer Teil der Studenten hat in freiwilligen Arbeitseinsatz bei Ausschachtungsarbeiten, sowie Transport- und Aufräumungsarbeiten mitgeholfen. Anfang 1957 wurden die Hörsäle ihrer Bestimmung übergeben. Als nächster Bauabschnitt ist eine Schwimmhalle mit einer 50-m-Bahn, verschiebbarer Starterbrücke, einen Sprungturm und Zuschauer-Tribüne vorgesehen.
