For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Chemnitz, beim Tanken Zentralbild Wanndorff - Weiß 5.9.1957 - Traktoristen sparen Treibstoff - Die Traktoristen der MTS Chemnitz, Kreis Neubrandenburg, folgten dem Aufruf der Synthesewerker aus Schwarzheide (siehe "Neues Deutschland" 14.7.1957), keinen Treibstoff zu vergeuden oder für unproduktive Zwecke zu verbrauchen. Durch bessere Arbeitsorganisation und Vermeidung von Leerlauf sparten sie bisher rund 30.000 Liter Treibstoff ein. Für die Mehrzahl der Traktoristen wurden Wohnungen im MTS-Bereich beschafft. UBz: Traktorist Horst SChmidt (Mitte) spart täglich mit seinem Traktor 3 - 4 Liter Treibstoff ein. Links: MTS-Direktor Heinz Berndt und rechts Tankwart Paul Kannenberg.
