For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Erfurt, Kunsteisbahn Zentralbild Wittig 26.12.1957 Witt-Qu. Erfurter Kunsteisbahn spielfähig. Im Jahre 1956 wurde mit den Erdarbeiten zum Bau der Erfurter Kunsteisbahn begonnen. Jetzt wurden das Spielfeld mit Rohrsystem und das Maschinenhaus fertiggestellt, so dass der Spielbetrieb aufgenommen werden kann. Nach der Fertigstellung im Jahre 1960 werden Ranganlagen aus Betonfertigteilen und eine Stahlbetontribüne mit Umkleide- und Duschmöglichkeiten für die Sportler sowie ein Reporterturm vorhanden sein. Die Spielfläche der Kunsteisbahn beträgt 30x60 Meter. Mit den Tribünenplätzen werden ausserdem 1 198 Sitz- und 7.000 Stehplätze für die Zuschauer vorhanden sein. Ein 22 km langes Rohrnetz sorgt für einen Umlauf der Kühlflüssigkeit. UBz: Blick auf die Kunsteisbahn im derzeitigen Zustand.
